The workaround for this and what fixed that problem was to close completely steam so it wont run in background. When the screen gives you the option choose 'Task Manager'. At the top of the task manager window click the processes tab and look down to find Starcitizen.exe - right click it and choose 'End Task'. Now close the RSI Launcher and make sure it is not still active on your task bar by the clock. If it is right click the icon and choose 'Exit'.
