Sword Saint, Eldridge Scion, and arcane Archer are all quite good. But all of the Magus archetypes are very micro-intensive, and probably aren't even worth playing unless you plan to use turn based combat heavily. Str does more damage, dex has more AC.Remember that at it's core the magus is a martial class. It can be built as a controller caster. As a staff magus you only get light armor so you need some DEX but a staff can't be finessed so you need STR for hit/dmg. Also you don't care as much about crits as other magi so shocking grasp losses some appeal.I think the Abyssal BL straight (or Orc) is better because you get almost identical STR bonus, but you get the full Magus capstone abilities, as well. Yeah DD is only better if you want better AC from being unarmored and use Scaled Fist as well. It doesn't matter whether you're armored or not for the DD's AC bonus.
