Method. The minimum requirements for the automated gem farm is 2 familiars, 100% optimized farm is 15 familiars. Each additional familiar beyond 2 just speeds up your farm. It is perfectly acceptable to work your way up over time. 5 familiars on the field is the optimized number to have.
