Mar 24, 2015 · The torque curve just isn't there for long hills loaded heavy. Peak torque pops in at 1600 and tapers off as rpms Increase. So by that math 1600 should be good, wrong its hp just isn't there at that low of a rpm. Ive found the best happy place is 2300. Coincidentally that's where HP and torque cross on the chart.

Also the tranny is 6 speed not 5 speed so my truck is 365 hp stock plus 90 comes to 455 hp. If you need more than that you need to fix your tranny.
