Was looking at the serial number tag on my engineless 782. The tractor does have the cast iron rear diff. The tag slightly different than my 1512 and 1711. Specifically the location (Brownsville vs Cleveland) and the Model number format. Is this just the first year of transition to Cub Cadet or is something missing from this model/serial number ...The 984 and 986 where Cub Cadet sold tractors not "type code". Yes they had options that the 982 did not have but they were marked 986/984. Many red painted "IH" tractors were sold painted yellow/white with different model numbers. The later 982,s had aluminum rear ends with dual turning brakes.These pumps, by the manual anyway, are not designed to run more than 600 psi. With no load, the hydraulic pressure is between 200 and 250. Everything seems to work fine (starting, charging) except the lights go on when the key is turned on and won't go off unless the fuse is removed even though the light switch is turned off. Rod Smith. Sometimes it is a little, other times it is a lot (like an ounce in a few minutes), sometimes it is under pressure (think mini volcano), and other times it is not. Sometimes it does not leak.

Mar 9, 2024. #5. That is an IH built 782. The patent decal and the lack of front frame holes proves this. Originally that would have been a KT17 series 1, which isn't worth messing with. I would at minimum swap a Magnum 18 or Command 18-up in it. That is worth $300-$400 all day every day including Sunday!

I read where you need to remove the differential cover....and that the fluid is so thick it takes hours to refill. I bought the Cub Cadet HiTran fluid from one of the sponsors here.Shell Knob MO. Digger posted a fuel pump from Amazon that he had used. I looked at it and it was $100.When put the hydro under a load the shafts slips. An easy check is to Watch the pump shaft that comes out the rear of the pump. It should spin with the even when you stop the tires. I took the switch out and put a test light on it and wasn't getting power to the solenoid when key was turned.
