Being here on a Saturday afternoon is a big plus, as traffic is at a minimum. A fairly short taxi ride will take you to San Telmo, which is a "must see" area of Buenos Aires.

Second, the city has a certain roughness. There are homeless in plain view. There are folks selling socks who can be aggressive. There is garbage, there is dog poop everywhere and a stairwell has a 50-50 chance of smelling like pee.
