Go cave diving every hour on the hour to get definite spawn chance.

Here's what I do. Bring 2 sets of scuba ghille combo - in the rare case an artha hits me with spit. As for tames I ride imprinted Baryonyx and have two strong mate boosted frogs follow. Their pathing AI works 90% of the time. The bary tanks while the frogs destroy any swarm bug that tries to swarm you.

The cave entrance is near the lake in the redwood forest. There are some rocky cliffs near it, it think on the eastern side of the lake. Anyway, the cave is in those cliffs/hills. For me, I usually take my frog all the way up 50/50 river to the turn where the beaver spawn is, then turn and head into the redwoods.
