You WANT it to have the 'reflex' sights AND a stabilized stock (or really any rifle stock, NOT a pistol stock)

Currently it's got AA 50 Limb Fms. So far, it's already proved to be an impressive gun but I feel like I can get more out of it as I'm currently running a shotgun build.

It's just an extremely powerful flamer that triggers off rifleman perks. Plasmas have a 50/50 energy and ballistic dam, so there's few to no enemies that resist them. They hold 300 rounds (400 on quad), so reloading mid combat is rare. So all in all they're pretty versatile and among the highest dps weapons in the game.

The flamer is much much much much much ( much) better used with free aim. Even with the perfect mods and 25lvc it'll empty your AP in a second and the range is worse than melee in vats. The popularity of using them in vats was an absolute extreme outlier scenario. They aren't vats guns despite youtube, they just aren't.
