None of the improved visual effects are kept - including ones that most people agree are better. It's a complete reconstruction of the theatrical release using modern sources (these days, 4k77 etc. exist and are arguably more accurate, but when despecialized first came out it was the only hd option for the theatrical cuts)So I’m new here and not sure exactly what works or doesn’t on these posts. The video is pulled from a number of sources, some as low-resolution as LaserDisc. Most importantly, the entire thing is produced at 720 resolution, which means it's actually closer to SD than it is to HD, and it will show it.
