I had one nurse check it at the hospital and it hurt so bad but then 2 other nurses + my doctor and it didn't hurt at all. However, dilation really means nothing as far as when you will go into labor.I do remember though that one of my aunts was due on 7/25 with her first baby (18 years ago), was 1 cm dilated at the end of June that year, and delivered on 7/31.
