Trying to farm a good roll on a world drop weapon is a long road. You could easily do 100 terminal overloads and never see a voltshot ikelos smg, much less a killing wind voltshot or whatever you specifically want.You can't "craft the SMG directly with umbral energy". In order to craft it you need 5 red borders. You can focus the smg directly but it cost umbral energy and engram or I can just take a chance with the ikelos engram. Got it. Wasn't really clear from your description because both ways are umbral focusing, not crafting.
