When I shoot with continuous auto focus with burst mode, or even single shot, I have a really poor keeper rate. I have af-c set to focus priority and it still seems like only about half my photos are in focus. But the SU-800 (Nikon or Debao) would definitely provide more range than your cameras built in flash as well as eliminating the visual flash (minuscule as it is) from showing up in your shot. Granted the D4S and D5 seem to be more forgiving than the high pixel D850 and Z 9 but I typically shot at f4 with a two body setup, a 200-400 f4 on one body and a 600mm f4 on the second. 5000 iso under pro/college stadium lights, shutter speed of 1/800s to 1/1000s on the hand held 200-400 that tended to be a stop slower than the 600mm …

I am undecided on a new Z 24-70 f4 or a new Z 24-120 lens to use with a new Nikon mirrorless Z camera. I think I would use the extra "reach", but based on prior posts and test results for the dismal Nikon 24-120 f3.5-5.6 and the 24-120 f4, I think a new Nikon Z 24-120 is a real challenge for Nikon with its 5:1 zoom ratio.Mar 27, 2023. #11. Mar 20, 2019. #14. Consider the Tamron 70-200 G2. After debating over the Nikon 70-200 f/4 and 70-300 AF-P (FX) I decided to get the Tamron for the f/2.8 aperture and to save a little over the Nikon f/4. The Tamron is a great lens, on par with, or just slightly behind Nikon’s 70-200 FL, depending on the reviewer.

In those days I was processing raw files with Nikon Capture NX2. The question was whether it was better to use ADL or just expose for the highlights and lift shadows in NX2. With the old D60, it was apparent that using ADL was a better way to go. In Aperture Priority, the camera did choose different shutter speeds with ADL turned on.Connecticut. Apr 19, 2023. #1. I have just passed 400,000 clicks on my lovingly used D5, and I'm deciding between the Z9 and the D6 to purchase as my next main camera. My main concern with going with the Z9 is high ISO noise. I shoot a lot in high school gyms and fields where I live at ISO 6400 and 12,800.Nov 28, 2023 · Nikon Cafe Light Contact us; Terms and rules; ... I should have included a picture, just because it's a photography forum. Anyway... I bought a new Nikon Zfc mostly because I like the retro styling; the Z camera because I wanted a lighter camera for travel than my D750 with the big heavy Tokina 24-70 that I usually have on it. Ricci released a video preview of the lens, and he observes (and demonstrates) that this 26mm is sharper than the 28mm f/2.8 -- while coming in at half the size. I have had all three versions, Hated the first two, love the F4 version, very sharp already at F4, I cant tell the difference (sharpness wise) between the 24-70 and the 24-120 at F5.6 and on. Only weakness is vignetting and distortion at wide angles, Lens correction in CS5 takes care of that.
