To the best of my knowledge Shrapnel is unaffected, but whether it is or not, it's ineffective as a DPS ammo anyways and should only be used on HR Rampages and small monsters.

Good baseline but you'd want to max out affinity first before Attack Boost for rpf pierce LBG. Try to max out WEX and Crit Boost then pump in other affinity skills like Crit Eye, Bloodlust or Max Might. Spareshot is kinda overkill for raw ammo but it's nice to have once you've got everything else already.
