So far I haven't had any issues with brakes or issues detailed in the recent recalls. Your experience is the first I'm hearing about a brake system failure. When the engine first comes on, it will run in series hybrid mode where it idles around 1500 rpm and loads the engine up with the generator to preheat the catalytic converter. It is noisier when doing this. I bought my 2022 Trailhawk 4xe in Feb and the only issues I’ve had are the radio rebooting itself periodically (every couple of weeks while driving) and my key fobs won’t activate the memory profiles. Not major issues, but also ones that I would have expected to be fixed by now (months later).

Now, it will overheat on a 25 mile trip in town. Update, my 4xe spent another three days in the shop. This time the overheating problem was finally solved. The max temperature on a 200 mile road trip was 192 on an 8% grade.
