The Army EBR-RI with a standard weight barrel and Leupold scope was about 15 lbs. The Navy MK 14 Mod 2 has a heavy barrel and the rifle weighs 17 lbs. (Note: Mk 14 Mod 2 chassis is heavy due to the adjustable PRS buttstock and related parts). Fwiw, a heavy McMillan Fiberglass match M1A stock is in-between, around 4 lbs 4 ozs.

I guessing the standard EBR stock would fit on a socom. I like having my standard M1A in a classic configuration and want a mini EBR build. I believe the standard EBR stock/chassis will fit, I think the different chassis are more for different barrel thicknesses. But double check on your own to be sure.

Ive been looking for my first 308 semiauto rifle and I really like the m1a/ebr and would assume a standard, long barreled M1a would be most ideal for precision but would love to hear any input you might have! I wouldn't be opposed to running the shorter barrel on the socom either if it'll benefit me! Thanks man!!
