Feb 21, 2022 · Dreaded Challenger blend door replacement. Just got a $2,000 estimate from local Dodge dealer to replace the driver side blend door on my 2015 Challenger Plus. $149 for the part, $200 to diagnose and $179/hour for labor. Seems like the lack of available car inventory is causing Dodge dealers to gouge on car repairs…thoughts?

After a couple of times, the dealer ended up replacing the HVAC control head unit which seemed to resolve the problem. That was under the warranty period, so no clue what it would have cost.

The blend door actuator was “clicking“ in the driver side dash, and was found to have a broken shaft inside the actuator. I still get some warm air mixed with cold air from the passenger side.

I just closed the driver vents off and aimed the passenger vents at me and turned the heat up all the way. It was better than nothing.
