You have to weigh time vs reward. If it takes 2-3 times longer to run a Master over a Legend and or you have a higher chance of failure, just run the Legend. You should get a drop around 10-20 runs on average, but it could be as few as 2-3 runs if RNG really likes you.

Even master is only an exotic every 3-5 runs. IIRC it's ~25% for legend and ~30% for the master version based on some community testing. Did lost sectors always say rare/common on legend/master mode? I haven't seen a comprehensive farm post-lightfall to compare drop rates to the supposed ~25%/+% we used to have. from what ive heard its 25% on legend and 30% on master. pretty sure you can rerun campaign on legend for the exotic.

Lost sectors are by far the best exotic farm. Over time Legends average out to ~20% drop rate, Masters to ~40% and you have the advantage of targeting a specific armor slot. Legends are probably the best bang for your buck overall since many can be easily cleared in under 5 minutes.

After 90+ Lost Sector runs I got ONE Ursa Furiosa to Drop. Around 26 of those runs were Master Lost Sectors and they only produced 3 Exotic Drops.
