I am completely new to welding and plan on purchasing a complete setup. I have been told and have read how good the millermatic 211 is and it does look like an awesome machine. I will be doing STRICTLY hobby work with it. I also looked at the Hobart 210mvp which seems to be a good machine. I have Miller welders and if I were to buy a stand alone mig of this size I would buy the Lincoln. Hi all, Just wanted to get peoples thoughts. When running a Miller 211 on 110v power how does it compare to using a Miller or Lincoln 140? I only have 110v power for now so would mainly be using the welder for that. The 211 is nice cause it gives me more options for the future, but it seems hard to justify justifying he extra cost given that I can always sell 110 and buy a 220 in future.Would love to hear some opinions on it before I make a choice. The miller and lincoln are both good machines! Also the hobart as stated above. Don't get the "weldpak" or "easy mig" lincoln though. They are more cheaply built than the regular "sp" model. For I bottle I would look for a 20lb co2 on craigslist. I've found them for $80 before!
