One accident due to the assisted steering problem. I have taken it to the dealer 8 times and it's always fixed until it happens again.

At a minimum, the ABS must 'know' what speed all the wheels are and has the ability to control the braking wheel by wheel. If there is a fault in any of the sensors or their circuits, then ABS doesn't have the info it needs and should light up the ABS ... Then it returned to normal.
